Alessi Audi

Start a revolution. And keep repeating it.

One in every two Audi cars sold today is a diesel. Hardly surprising, since developments such as common rail technology have made TDI more and more efficient. The logical consequence was for a diesel to enter the world of motorsport. And successfully too: in 2006, the Audi R10 TDI was the world’s first diesel-powered race car to win the Le Mans 24 Hours – and then repeat this victory several times over.

The 1.6 litre TDI engine with a power output of 66kW is employed in the Audi A1. The common rail injection system has four injectors and is characterised by an excellent balance of performance, driving comfort and engine acoustics. In conjunction with the 5-speed manual transmission, it consumes just 3.8 l/100 km* while producing CO2 emissions of 99 g/km. It goes without saying that the 1.6 TDI engine which is also offered with a 7-speed S tronicS tronicFaster gearshifts, sportier driving: the S tronic combines the sporty characteristics of a manual gearbox with the advantages of an automatic.S tronic complies with the EU5 emissions standard.

*Fuel consumption and emissions data manual transmission (S tronic)
